Scouts

Scouts are aged 10½ to 14.

When you join Scouts, you'll be introduced to lots of new activities, people and things. You'll get opportunities to develop new skills, make new friends, try new things and go on adventures. Camping, climbing, shooting, archery, hiking are just a small number of the many activities you'll be able to take part in.

During your time in Scouts you'll work towards your Chief Scout Gold Award. To achieve this you will need to complete the 9 challenge badges; Adventure, Creative, Expedition, Outdoor, Personal, Skills, Teamwork, Team Leader and World.

There are wide and varied range of activity badges, about 60 in total, covering such things as Astronomer, Chef, Entertainer, Fire Safety, Hobbies, Local History, Master at Arms, Photographer, Physical Recreation, Pioneer and Scientist - there’s something for everyone.

The are also 15 staged activity badges, which can be worked on during your entire time in Scouting, from Squirrel all the way through to Explorers.

You can find out more about Scouts on the Scouts website.
